A fig is not a simple fruit in the usual sense; its flowers are tucked inside the structure we eat. In many species, specialised wasps pollinate those hidden flowers while using the fig as part of their life cycle. This matters because food often depends on relationships we never see. The lesson: sweetness can begin as cooperation.
